Re: Does it seem like this site is dying to anyone else?
is a shame that postings are down - my GTV6 is just gathering dust since we welcomed a baby into the household, thus I need to get my alfa fix vicariously via the internet, but this board has gone to sleep and the other one has gone juvenile...its a sad state of affairs L_S_N - I've regretted the de...

maybe cheaper and easier to put in an oil cooler for the gearbox or at least some ducting/heat sheilds for the brakeskevin wrote:I am now monitoring gearbox oil temp. If get excessively high then will go outboard disc. Just trying to reduce amount of work at this stage.

Re: 195/60R15, 205/55R15 or 205/60R15
Do 205/60 15 not scrub on the front guards given the OD is 12mm greater than OEM 195/60 15?

Re: Spring Rate to Damper Ratios???
I doubt that test would be sufficiently accurate to use for setting the rebound damping. I would suggest setting them evenly (same number of turns) and then, if there is any doubt from roadtesting, find somebody with a shock dyno to test accurately and rebuild as a matched pair.

Re: QLD Floods
Its easy to be tossing around 'shouldas' and 'couldas' at this stage, and there are plenty of things to blame govts for, but the State and Local Governments have responded very well to this situation. While plenty of individuals didn't take it seriously until too late, plenty did and have minimised...

yep, we're all good - high and dry here - just a bit sleep deprived. Its a good year to NOT be living near the river! Pray the low in the coral sea doesn't turn into a cyclone and come to join the party.

Re: Alfetta wheel offset
I would still disagree with the Alfetta specs. Mine came with factory (not dealer) wheels at 22mm offset, as well as every stock Alfetta I've seen in California. Maybe Alfa had different specs for different areas, who knows. I've never been to California, but don't know of a 'factory' alloy other t...

Re: Alfetta wheel offset
Stock gtv6 offset is et45. There is no differences between gtv6 and 4 cyl gtv, the track is identical. 4 cyl ran the same wheels as the gtv6 on equivalent models. the earlier 4cyl used 5.5 x 14 speedlines also with et45. Dealers may have fitted different sorts of wheels - I had a 79 gtv with some wi...

Good call on the Simmons - top wheels. Those 17's might be saved by a paint job - all silver or black perhaps?

De dion bush is pivoting (right word?) freely (triangle droops and rolls OK without springs and shocks- albeit with some effort as it weighs a ton) On the shocks, I also had koni yellow on my twinspark and it used to do quite excellent donuts (ahem, purely in the interests of driver training, in a c...
