Re: Niclas Rosengren (Sweden)

Wow Niclas, that sure is one mean machine! What size cilinders did you use for the brakes. I have a 7/8 for the front and a 3/4 for the back, but wasn't too impressed with the increase in feel or performance (pagid rs4 pads). What type of material did you use for the splitter and does it cover the u...

Re: Fast 75 TS on the Hockenheim

Marc's car actually had less hp than me (190 vs 205), but made a lot of torque across the rev range. He did run less revs though. Different engines since he uses carbs  I don't know if he uses this config now, might have had a rebuild over the winter. I don't know. We always run slicks, unles...

Re: A 'budget' race car is born (slow delivery)

Kev,

It's a press fit from the top. If it wants to move it will move down, and you can't fit the bush through there ;) The two spacers you got with the SZ bearing will keep it firmly locked in the beam.

Re: Chassis Bracing and Seam Welding

no, this is a streetcar. The guy who owned the car works in a raceteam that modifies it's racecars this way. There is additional bracing from the enginebay aswell, on the racecars that is.

This setup is also on my racecar. It absolutely transforms the handling.

Re: Chassis Bracing and Seam Welding

I should have said stiffen the shocktower (with a crossbrace or seamwelding). Yoa're right.

It's a lot of work to do the seamwelding properly and totally useless on a roadcar IMHO.

Re: Chassis Bracing and Seam Welding

what do you mean by in-gaurd bracing? I've had coilovers (with torsion bars) on all my transaxles and never found any problem. Dutch roads are pretty good, but I do drive them hard. The only thing I've found is that the top mount of the coilover (no torsion bars) was bulged when I hit a very high cu...

Re: Chassis Bracing and Seam Welding

I wouldn't do that on a road car! If you have a minor collision on the front end, it's possible you have to write off the entire car due to lack of crumple zones. And if you retain the torsion bars, there's no need to stiffen the front end.

Track car: abslotely, road car: absolutely NOT!

Ask around for a good dyno-shop and a guy who can properly program an engine. Get the computer he is familiar with. It doesn't matter how good the EFI is if the ,ap is all wrong. Powerloss, engine failures, etc.. A programmable EFI is as good as the guy who made your map. A ready map for a megasquir...

there are several brands of "environmental gasoline" here which is really a race fuel sold as lawnmower fuel (also used in indoor go-carts). Which ones? Maybe they are sold here aswell... BTW. both the racecar as my GTV runs WAY better on the BP "v-power" then on the original Sh...

and once you post a f*cking diff their way (and have to pay to get it back!) they still answer: "when you will order 30 we'll make them for 700 pounds each" that is the "group buy" Jim is talking about and I lost nearly 100 euros on shipping back & forth. I went to the troubl...

F*CK!

That sucks Mike. Not making it this time has one plus. You don't have to stress out as much to get the car finished for the next event. It's nearly done! There will be a next time....

I'm so glad you've got it. Express airmail from the land of the funny cigarettes takes nearly two weeks!! Damn, the guys from the Postal Services have probably been smoking too much...... Daniel, I run a ground clearance of 7cm(nearly 3 inches) and could go lower. Rules state that no part of the car...
