Re: steeringpump faillure

Excellent detective work there Killas.
Do you happen to have any pictures of your mods to the pump? I'm assuming it would be the same case for the 156 pump as well.

Re: Pumped Oil Supply

75evo, in what way did it break? The steel plate broke or pull the threads out? I'm interested to hear about possible weak points and how they occurred.

Re: Cool Alfa 2.5 V6 12V CNC head porting video

Botswanaalfa you are correct in the term golf ball effect. But that is the inlet port. The dimpling is to reduce friction of the air as it passes the walls of the port. Just like a golf ball! Aerodynamically a golf ball will fly further due to less drag because of the dimples. Commonly used with CNC...

Re: Merc Kompressor Supercharger?

Sorry should point out the m62 blower came on the earlier 111 engine. The m45 came on the later 271 engines.

Re: Merc Kompressor Supercharger?

Most of the later kompressor 4cyl mercs used the m45 Eaton but the earlier 98'-2001 approx used the m62 Eaton. Easy way to tell the difference is the m62 compressor have a clutch on the front pulley same as an A/C compressor. The later m45 have a fixed smaller pulley. The m62 is what Greg Gordon bas...

Re: Need s some advise on converting my Alfetta gtv 4 to a V

Hi Daryl, have a look at the setup from a 75, the pedal mounts inside the cabin on its own bracket, so they have a longer cable that may be useful. Or use the whole setup if that's easier

Re: Camshaft marking on ends ?

Hi mirlock, as Jim said, just set them to the factory scribed lines and you'll be as close as the human eye can make it. You mention 'profiled' cam shafts. I assume you mean re-profiled cams. In which case it would come down to how accurate the cam grinder was in setting up each of the 4 cams before...

Re: 24v headers for rwd.

Its a shame that jigs weren't made for future sets, but that's Alfa life... Just curious, there seems to be a lot of effort put into the upper section with nice curves and free form but I'm wondering did you think about a true collector? Seems that energy ran out towards the end and became just shar...

Re: Crank angel sensor pulley

It depends on what Ecu you are using! A factory Ecu will not work with three pins but most aftermarket will like Motec, Autronic etc... The factory motronic needs 36-2 sensor wheel.
Confirm what you have and need before modifying anything.

Re: Crank angel sensor pulley

I'm not sure if Alfa used this particular hole for crank sensing maybe on some euro model. Or for some reason on the production line, but it's machined in every bell housing I have ever seen. They obviously spent the time and money to do this for some reason but it does give us a good place to creat...

Re: Crank angel sensor pulley

Hi Alfaa1, as Kevin said there are aftermarket wheels available. Regularly on eBay. Depends on the Ecu you plan to use. I don't have photos but could take some for you. If needed. As for positioning the dowels/bolts. Just set the engine at tdc. On cyl 1 with a dial guage to be exact! Make a small pl...

Re: Crank angel sensor pulley

Depending on what type of ecu you are running there are other options. You'll need the factory type (30-2) for a factory ecu. finding a 164 24v pulley and cover could be hard in Aus. If it's an aftermarket ecu you may only need three trigger points. (For each top dead centre) then the factory conven...
