I just took out the rack and al other associated bits and am about to start cleaning it down with wax and grease, then sand it to bare metal - but I need some paint and prep advice.

I would say perhaps go with the stock length, then adjust from there ? measure it on your car - if you can.

expensive maybe but not OEM expensive !

engine gasket kit 181 pounds
head gasket set 166 pounds !

so AU it would have been over $880Au

I got my full engine set for just under $400 and they were in stock - so I am very happy.

Thanks for the help guys. :D

Not knowing f I am expecting too much here, but if I take the damper to a suspension specialist - can they rebuild the internals of the damper by seing what the seals size, setup ect are like ? Or am I asking too much. From all accounts it appears that these units are NLA from alfa or suppliers so h...

MD - I dont really like the tone of your post/s here. You are coming off as a wanker to say the least. I didnt see www.MDgtv6.com when I punched in the URL in my browser. From your post it seems that because you don't want to use one - you have to force your opinion onto all others - and shou...

no need to feel sorry.

The steering damper is a stock part on any gtv6. And there is no power steering on the gtv6 as you know - I don't recall mentioning I had one. But yes I will be putting the damper on. Alfa engineers would not have put it on there for show.

its probably been discussed before but the damper probably fails due to heat, the selas etc wouldnt last long in that area. I thnk that o a rough road it would make a difference - if its indeed functioning. Reason most people notice no diffrence is prob due to it being shot anyway.
