Re: Alfetta GTV 1800 Track day project

Nice little project Kevin. Could do with a more flashy front nudge bar...Got a feeling Zamani has got a spare one going cheap.

Re: lithium battery for race car

Hey Buddy what's with moving all the furniture? Are you running out of room in the engine bay from installing that V16 you have been hanging out to do? Getting any battery out of the heat zone is always a good idea. Alternators also prefer to have a cool life. However, with DC operation, it is also ...

Kevin, Insults are not your style. You are the cultured guy from Saut AAFRIKA. Keep it straight and your usual cool. If you are looking for a new you, take up sky diving will ya? Remember to not be concerned with the new parachute style with all the holes in it, they are for guiding the glide path. ...

Re: Squeeeall

You possibly have two problems. Exactly as Zamani has said PLUS the sort of brake pad material that does that all the time due to its formulation..Ever heard it on busses or trucks pulling up when they squeal like sheit at the last few turns of the wheels? Given the age of your ride, sounds to me li...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hi PietereQ

The lowest configuration that I have had is 80mm ground clearance. It is the only reference I can give you.
Refer packaging for ball joint details. I believe that Kadett had them over there

Re: GTV6 Door hinge pin replacement help

Well done big guy. I would suggest something a little more precise. Remember the body posts are fixed and the roll pin should be held captive here to force the door hinge to pivot around the pin. Therefore the body posts should have the original dimension with wear only on the door hinge itself. To ...

Re: Coolant dripping

Fracture or other failure of the heater hoses behind the glove box area ?? Loose hose connections of same?? Minor pin hole causing a spray top that area ?? If it is not coolant but just water, it is condensate from the TX valve area of the air con gas lines that has lost the insulation wrap to preve...

Re: GTV6 Door hinge pin replacement help

Hi Michael. Just thinking on the run here. Not a job I have done before so this is a suggestion to get the topic moving. The hinge pin is called a Roll Pin Obviously the pin will only come out by some form of impact. Getting a direct square on the bottom for a PUSH impact is problematic. Therefore I...

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer

Hi bteoh. The frontal profile of the Alfetta GTV whether in 2 or 2.5 guise is an almost perfect design and very difficult to mess with. Very hard to get spoiler effects so they don't break off during trailer loading/unloading especially if the vehicle is lowered. I threw this one on to merely protec...

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer

I know that in the northern hemisphere you are all tucked in and sitting around the fire hugging that tablet for company while we are fighting off bushfires, flooding and enough sunburn to fry eggs on the bonnet (hood). If you don't have enough boredom in your life, try using 5 minutes up on a vinta...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hi Kevin, Well mate in the days of old when knights were bold and sheep were afraid, I was supplied with an 8v twin spark from the best friend man could have. It came from the land of funny cigarettes and flour mill turbines. I think they call them wind mills. If you still have a need for one let me...
