Re: Need s some advice on an Alfetta GTV 3.2 V6 24v conversion

Does the ITB have a idle bypass screw or something? Otherwise you need to go with your method by leaving the throttle open a little. Do you have a vacuum balancer for adjusting vacuum at idle? That's what I saw my mechanic use when he tunes the 4-cam boxers 16vs since they all had ITBs.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

If this build used a 164 head it should work. I could be wrong, but if it has an early 75 3.0 V6 heads then some minor machining may be needed.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Only issue with autronic is you need to run a home/cam sensor. I didn't check if this build had it. A few ways to do that for the 12V. You can use the distributor mount a bolt on the rear of the cam gear and the sensor on the head behind the cam gear.

You can check used Autronic SM4 units, less than 800 euro . In some cases with CDI as well. If a used one comes up I will let you know.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Have you thought about a new efi system? Like MAXXECU? I like the UI. Originally I thought "who needs a good UI as long as it can run the engine"...I was wrong.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

MD, That suggestion is too simple. Usually complex problems like a malfunctioning hydraulic belt tensioner deserves a similarly complex explanation and solution, like "mate, your block was casted wrong causing your tensioner to malfunction, we need to do a new cast and full rebuild". We ca...

Hey Mike,

Is it still possible to get the SA bonnet and spoiler? I'm thinking of getting it for my dad's '84 GTV6 3.0.

Re: SZ/RZ rear suspension mounts

Took some photos of my bro's SZ rear suspension. You can see the dedion is not just a slightly reinforced dedion. The strut tower is also not exactly the same.

What about the dedion? The SZ has reinforcements there it seems.

Re: Clutch Release Bearing - Removal

Steve,

Isn’t the bearing just held by a circle- or snap ring on the opposite side of the clutch? I haven’t done a clutch in a while but maybe it requires one persuasion once you expand the ring/circlip.

Re: 24v cam timing adjustment

Mate do you have a photo of the puller?

The pulley you have is different from the 164 24V pulley but in principle it should work the same. I'm looking to buy a 3-jaw puller

Re: 24v cam timing adjustment

That’s is the ONE thing that I’m scared of. I once tried to take a pulley off a 24v pulley from a cam, and the puller couldn’t get it off. Luckily the cam was out of the engine, so eventually a press was used. How do the workshops deal with stuck pulleys on an FWD car? Especially the rear bank, it w...

24v cam timing adjustment

Guys, Exhaust cam for cyl 1,2,3 is a wee bit off the mark. Question is, can I get away with 1-lock the 3 of the cams 2-mark the cam belt cogs and the pulley teeth with a white-marker, 3-release the tensioner, 4-Partially unmount the belt on exhaust cam 1,2,3 pulley 5-Undo exhaust cam 1,2,3 from the ...

G’day MD,

Thanks but what about your front hub conversion. Would like to see that as well. 5x114.3 is a very smart move.
