Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hey MD, I see you still got bugs in your undies. Thought you might have been calling ET on your radios and forgotten about your poor 75. That GTV looks pretty good in that combination of colour coding . Hopefully it will find a good home and we can see progress on the 75. Question : have you seen a ...

Re: Alternative Alternator Abarth 500, 120Amp for extras

I went for Abarth one as lighter . Yes the green wire to original circuit as it’s an exciter for the resistance of the bulb to trigger .

Re: Alfa GTV 916 2,0 V6 TB bring back to life after 12 years

Hi Wolfgang
Hows the project coming along ? I believe you have made some headlight upgrades. I do enjoy this thread as so much info to be gained from your engine mods which is this engine has been used a few times in conversions into the 116 GTV6.

Alternative Alternator Abarth 500, 120Amp for extras

As heading suggests this high powered alternator was necessary as I have now really exceeded the limits of the standard 55Amp . Due to a severe arm injury (in workshop) I have had to fit power steering on the track car which has 225s upfront and heavy castor so steering is a bitch if you got one and...

Re: SA GTV 6 race car - 3.4 L 24v, 350whp at 5800ft

Some pics to follow from an awesome test day in February earlier this year . Huge thanks to Mario for letting test both his cars ( the 3.7 12V GTV6 with gearbox in original position and his 3.4 front mount Blue /white GTV6 as shown in this build . Must say yhe 3.4 has such a special engine note ! Al...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff

Right got it Md , I will put a potato into the one exit pipe . Normally I save this potato for my budgie smugglers ! The old trick you taught me :) I will have a blanking gasket which i will use to switch banks ie .. one to left and one to right . This will separate it totally . Will keep you posted...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff

Hi Pieter , I would have thought deflecting noise into tarmac could amplify it. Not sure why I thought that as it could result in destructive interference .. .. noise reduction . I understood the exhaust on the 155 DTM were turned up to reduce noise and keep the power they achieved . I have bought m...

Hi Z, as the car was on axles stands in my store and we are not allowed any welding to take place , I had to cut all the all the pieces and build it in stages with sticky tape . After each section was looking good I got it spot welded next door then when the whole section was looking ok then I took ...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Finally some good weather combined with Classic Alfa Trackday at Goodwood. Unfortunately my GTV6 trackcar failed the DB test even with three silencers on the side exit pipe . I think the big bore “bass” is just to deep ! I was 102 db already at 4000rpm on a 98db day
