before we all rush to apg.com... i ordered on may 1, 2007 parts for the 3l 24v motor that were listed in stock on their website. they charged my card the day i ordered for almsot $600 in merchandise, but i still have not received the goods, tracking #, or even an excuse after a full month and a mill...

ya know, shipping via the US postal service is usually alot cheaper then UPS or DHL and you can calculate shipping on the website usps.com.

I am not sure if this info is useful to anyone, but I was able to buy a stock set of pistons and liners with rings and pins for the 164 3l 24v for 450GBP ($1007 shipped to NYC). While we are talking about the slight differences between the 12v and 24v, can someone tell me if the 3l 12v pistons rings are the same as the 3l 12v rings?

the alfa boot is shaped like a cone and the porsche boot if a cylinder. if you compress the porsche boot all the way there is about 2 mm space between it and the shock in the front, the dedion tube on the bottom, and the rear spring in the back. i have them all assembled now and only the inner cv joints are greased in the event that the outer boots rub the springs. I will finish this project up tonight and report back. this has been an exciting bit of research. now if only we could find that porsche gearboxes are just more durable alfa gear...

Is the 3l 12v bell housing longer than the gtv6 by 4 mm and that is why it must be used for the 24v swap? can a 2.5 unit just be spaced the 4mm out?

the last time i checked the lester.it website they had an ad that said they would make a one off shogun body kit for any car for 3 grand. maybe you could convince them your sketch is shogun enough.
