Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Whilst the front of the engine is permanent daydream, the rear section is pretty much complete save for the mounting of the starter motor in its usual place. However the components there are modified for racing purposes as you will see. I did not weigh the flywheel so don't ask me. It is not what wa...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

That's because I use a unique formula to make the calculation . That formula is as follows:- The angle of the dangle, is proportional to the throb of the knob, the heat of the meat and equal the sag of the bag to get the scoop of the droop. To keep it rust free you must apply knacker lacquer which a...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Slow porgress for many reasons. Working around a bunch of other cars and doing my 75 when I get a chance. Waiting on machine shops to get my custom stuff made these days takes an eternity.

Here's a couple of frames indicating a tiny amount of progress.

Re: Alfa wins its first TCR race in the USA

Hey Good Buddy. Maybe the door has opened just a tiny bit but in the unobtainium sector. Looking at the somewhat retro inspiration of the 33 Stradale and the new one spawned from it, it is an undeniable effort at precisely what I am saying Alfa should be doing. Whether it is a modern remake of the 1...

Re: Alfa wins its first TCR race in the USA

Stretching the subject matter a tad, I think Alfa should take a leaf out of the Alfaholics approach and rebuild the GTV6 with a better transaxle and shifting together with a torque tube and pump up the 24valve Busso with upgraded brakes etc. Just make a decent job of it.

Hi Kevin, good to see you lurking around healthy forums like this one and its strongest challenger for participation -the weather channel.
Goodness me the world has changed in such a short time !

So let's talk Alfas.
The engine is progressing. It's fully assembled now. Here as some visual updates.

Re: My rebuild!

Ah, Jules. I just know you typed this projection report on your IPhone in between parachute jumps. Be careful not to be too preoccupied during the jump in case you land in the Kakadu croc swamps. It could cost you a pair of aggots. :D :D :D LED headlights eh? Well, don't overlook the LHD/RHD configu...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Moving on. Decided to reverse engineer the coolant coupling. Got a mate with a CNC machine who will make it for me from billet. I have finally cleared all the backlog of servicing the family vehicles as well as buying and selling some cars so now I can return to this project. Got my headers made and...

Re: Alfetta GTV 1800 Track day project

Hi Kevin, I am impressed with your dedication to these Alfas given the trouble you go through to just get to your workshop. Top job fella. I notice that my name is on no less than 9 topic sets and this post will make it 10. Seems like the projects are dead in the water as nobody is posting sheit. Pl...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

So let the games begin and right up I need some help. So I can make up a foreign intake manifold on my intended engine, I need some parts from an Alfa 75 turbo series manifold. Specifically the coolant gooseneck connection in the photo. The rest of the parts I can probably source one way or another ...

Re: Alfetta GTV 1800 Track day project

Hey Kev, Is that a UK registration number plate standard issue or have you ordered that as an advertising billboard ? :D Cripes, why are they so large ? Lot of parking attendants in the UK must need reading glasses I guess. Neil Armstrong could read that from the moon. It takes up way too much airfl...

Re: Coolant dripping

Hey Big Guy, Yes indeed there is a distilled water and inhibitor in my coolant. No anti freeze but it doesn't need it. I think ethyl glycol is banned on the track anyway. What it has got is a refreshed sheit hot livery. Must get a photo of it up. I 'll work on that soon. It would nice to know if Gho...
