Re: 164 24 valve conversion
Hi Darryl , I will post some pics of sump showing where you need to cut to allow pump to clear . Also I put three studs in sump as this allows you to tight up front section below pulley so stop oil leak . You will under stand that when you get to that part . The sump holes at the rear need to be rea...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK

Then the huge Italian car day is Auto Italia day at Brooklands at end of April with over 5000 people attending . This generally a static gathering ...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK
Last weekend was Goodwoods 75th members meeting and as usual it was spectacular . I have been lucky enough to attend for last three years and absolutely amazed ( again ) of the driving skill of these guys . Ironically the only race Alfa won on the day was a supercharged straight Tipo B P3 . Hopefull...

Re: Our 1600 Junior restoration
One areas that took me ages was putting the window cable mechanism in especially when I had no cable length to work off . It was a lot of trial and error fitting as you have to be within 20mm on the 3m length otherwise you can't tension the cable on the door to test it . I used the aluminium head of...

Re: Our 1600 Junior restoration
Thanks Murray . These cars definitly won't rust due to salts on roads , cold and dampness however their is quite a lot of dust in the air which over long periods of time block up the cills . That combined with water even in best condition will start to corrode but if these cars are maintained with w...

Re: Our 1600 Junior restoration
Thanks goodness my original door rubbers were still good as its huge restorers nightmare of getting doors to shut properly with new rubbers . But fitting 105 door rubbers is a serios test of patience which took me ages as it fits into a double channel unlike the simple 116 cars . sa started test fit...

Re: Our 1600 Junior restoration
Before the dash was put in I had to check the heater mechanism cables were functioning , pipe work drainage from scuttle was connected and ventilation ducting in place as its a real tester on the back if you try do it afterwards .

Re: Our 1600 Junior restoration
I got the dashboard back and it's the first time I have actually seen a proper job on a totally cracked up dash . The guys who did it for me specialise in modern accident damage dashboards and airbags for the luxury German cars and they have an ISO 9001 cert which is atleast better from the previous...
