Re: What sort of Alfa cars we want
What to have: It must be rear wheel drive!!! Too many front wheel drive pretend performance cars. Who hasn't enjoyed controlling a bit of over steer with the throttle? Smallish car with a good wheel base to track ratio. Think MX5 dimensions. Perhaps an aluminium chassis. High torsional rigidity is a...

Re: Build pics of my alfa gtv6-Thread officially closed! All done
Alfa build a new engine??? So it will skip belts, and snap belts, leak oil and have premature valve guide wear? Alfa could just go and get their hands on just about any Japanese engine built in the last 20 years and see how they did some of the basic stuff, what materials they used and then build t...

Re: Front mounted tranny
How about trying to adapt an engine to TA brace like the MX5/Miata uses? Same/similar concept. Maybe a bit easy to build instead of trying to fit a larger diameter tube in an already cramped space.

Re: Build pics of my alfa gtv6, its finished! Video-25th Oct 08
Thinking of throwing a Borg Warner box in the rear, i dont want a box up front. Interesting 8) And Garth, when you 'upgrade' to a 'real car', you too can act like a complete tool and call it being Australian  Just don't forget to also put a big Holden sticker on the car somewhere. So they can...

The worst thing about having a toy like this, is every time you drive it, you just can't help but have little samples of that sirupy smooth torque . It's addictive and you don't grow out of it in a hurry.
Nice work BTW

Re: Koni shocks and springs
Greg thanks for posting that link to your performance and suspension section. I do have 1 thing I'd like to mention regarding your comments about chassis flex. On your site you wrote: "The GTV6 chassis flexes quite a bit.. The GTV6 seems to be stiffer than the Milano, but by modern standards it...

Re: Adaptronic...? Dizzy? Adaptronic to the rescue!!
Excellent (nearly) end result !!!
Nothing better than your own personal efforts (rather than just simply pumping cash into it) all coming together.
That sence of satisfaction just can't be bought

Re: Adaptronic...? Or Dizzy...?
Garth, you could have given up at any time during the build, so why would you stop now??? Please provide as much information as you can about your engine, these new fuel tuning problems, your crank trigger set up, ignition system, and complete fuel system. Are you using using the Motronic 60-2 crank...

Re: Adaptronic...? Or Dizzy...?
I've only read good things about them from the guys that are using them over on the Toymods forum, so it is very strange to hear of trouble. Are you using the Motronic 60-2 crank wheel and VR sensor or the distributor sensor? If you are using a dissy sensor, what conditions are the bearings/bush's i...

Re: Adaptronic...? Or Dizzy...?
Have you spoken to Adaptronic about the set up? The Set Up Wizard seems pretty helpful. Having said that, and I know it is a different system, I did read on the EMS forum (for the 4424) about a guy having trouble with the computer interfacing with Variable Reluctor trigger after a particular engine ...

Re: Build pics of my alfa gtv6, its finished! Updated pics-28-07
Way to go using the Adaptronic, way better computer (from what I read) than others in a similar and higher price range. I like the fact that it will work with the Motronic 60-2 crank trigger without any fuss. Also, have read that their auto-tune system is 1 of the better 1s on the market. And a dece...

Re: Piccies
2 Garrett GT30 (maybe 35) turbos ! That's not mucking about!
Maybe a big bore engine to need 2 turbos that would be quoted at 500hp each, as a minimum.
Loved the front brakes on the back
