Re: Engine smoking
John did your mechanic check how the seals fitted when pressed on as I mentioned there were some guides exported to SA that were a touch smaller in diameter who knows why !! So my mate had this nightmare issue a few months back. As he was not a mechanic he assumed all was good with his new green sea...

Re: South Africa - 1982 GTV6 2.5 Restoration (50/100)
Powder coating is always better in the harsher UK environments with all the salts on the roads . Only reason why I say this is the hardness (impact resistance) is better thus less chance of sharp siones chipping the coating away to the raw metal . However the preparation involved for powder coating ...

Wow Mke, totally fascinating the process of plating you do at home. (Yes I know it's same at factory on much larger scale😀) Most people struggle just to rebuild the car now now you are going into the process we just farm out. I always wonder why sometimes you can get black shaded areas when parts co...

More gauges. If your original pressure regulator is not working this one fits in same holes and is very good. It's always recommended by manufactures not to leave the fuel pressure gauge permantly connected.

Re: South African GTV 3.0 - All info, parts and manuals
These are pics of the wide band PLX lambda set up I bought. I have put a bung in both down pipes for each bank to make sure one side is not leaner. You just gotta jack car up and swap around during testing. It looks a bit messy but as its not a permant gauge its will just sit on passenger seat with ...

Re: South African GTV 3.0 - All info, parts and manuals
I am slowly getting this info together. The process can be costly however if you look at the value of the car these days and how the carbs are the heart of ii, it then makes sense to get the necessary tools and gauges in order to get them spot on . Even well worn carbs can be resurrected with the av...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's
I decided to lower the front ride height as it was ridiculously to high. Even after dropping it plus minus 20-25mm it’s still pretty conservative but this suits the 16” replica Compomotives. Final ride height is now 165mm under front jacking points. I had a half day to do this with no hoist so doubl...

PRE-STRIP DOWN . As this title suggests there are definitely some areas that should be checked and analysed before you pull the carbs apart . With any extra info of the problem areas it helps to give a closer look when doing that particular carb or if it’s an over all problem like a misfire on one c...

MD, aaaah yes to clear up any confusion there is a simple explanation. However I won't tell you right now as you have been half asleep most of your life and I am waiting for your sleep pattern to resync.
