Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer

Hi bteoh. The frontal profile of the Alfetta GTV whether in 2 or 2.5 guise is an almost perfect design and very difficult to mess with. Very hard to get spoiler effects so they don't break off during trailer loading/unloading especially if the vehicle is lowered. I threw this one on to merely protec...

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer

I know that in the northern hemisphere you are all tucked in and sitting around the fire hugging that tablet for company while we are fighting off bushfires, flooding and enough sunburn to fry eggs on the bonnet (hood). If you don't have enough boredom in your life, try using 5 minutes up on a vinta...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hi Kevin, Well mate in the days of old when knights were bold and sheep were afraid, I was supplied with an 8v twin spark from the best friend man could have. It came from the land of funny cigarettes and flour mill turbines. I think they call them wind mills. If you still have a need for one let me...

Giocattaolo

Man, this topic set has huge diversity and has built up a big library over the years. You can spend hours goofing off and enjoying it. Here is a clip of the Giocattaolo running in the Targa Tasmania 2022. Check out the V8 noise..

Re: Fuel Pump Damage/ Checkout?

Alan it is OK to bench test a fuel pump on the following conditions:- Secure the pump so that it stays in a fixed position. Pump a non flammable liquid like water instead of fuel Use an inline fuse between the pump connections and the battery. 20 amps max. Have some where to deliver the pumped liqui...

Re: Electric Power Steering on 75 Rack

Kevin,
If you consistently do high revs, it may be wise to increase the size of your alternator pulley to slow it down so it doesn't thrash itself to pieces. It will still make all the power just the same unless you do the opposite and idle it everywhere... :D

Re: Fuel Pump Damage/ Checkout?

Alan, Something tells me that the operation of the fuel pump coincides with the starter motor. Just turning the ignition "On" will not initiate the fuel pump operation. The simplest way to check if your fuel pump is getting power is to make up a little test lead using two alligator clips, ...

Re: V6 12v Individual Throttle Body

TBs as pictured suggest top end power coming from high revs. Irrespective of the lengths, induction without filtration for a road car is a recepe for rapid wear and under bonnet fires.

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Wow !! More than a year and half gone without any progress on the 75. However, there is a reason for this. I have been busy quietly restoring an Alfetta GTV 2.0 that has been sitting in my workshop for 5 years waiting to be the back up car if I have a major track incident with Orange Cab. Thankfully...

Re: Wanted. Alfetta GTV Rear spring lower rubber base

If you haven't found an original part by now then this might help. Just source a thick walled ordinary garden hose. Cut a length equal to the circumference of your spring. Make a split cut along the length of the off-cut piece. Wrap it around the spring base. If it requires it, use some light cable ...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff

Kevin, Stop. STOP. SSSSSTTTOOOPPP !!! You got the concept all arse about face. The idea is:- Take the left bank left with a larger muffler only. Take the right bank with a larger muffler only. DO NOT COMBINE ANYTHING. The idea being that you distribute the noise to two locations and not concentrate ...

Re: GTV6 3.2 24V

Peter Think about it. Oil pressure during the braking cycle is almost irrelevant because the engine is on a very small load compared to maximum power under acceleration. A good oil will see this period of engine running well enough not to be of concern. If the pressure is holding up during cornering...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Kevin I think you have a tyre noise problem. Remember you only need two to go round corners.
