The cantilever effect? You mean if force exerted by the LCA's movement causes the spacer to pivot on the 2 lower mounting bolts?

Well...
From eyeballing that alu bracket it looks pretty solid and it will probably not be a problem. The thing is that the "probably" part in the last sentence isn't good enough when it comes to suspension parts and Aluminum isn't really one alloy, there are plenty of different ones and some of them will really only work as candle holders and such. :roll:

So what alloy have you used?
Do you know how to check for cracks (not using your eyes only)?
How often will you check for cracks?
Racecar or daily driver?
Do you have a cross-section through the bolt holes? I'm guessing the bolt is countersunk on the back as well?

No, distance new mounting point to old. LCA pulling/pushing onto the alloy plate. And then imagine the small contact patch under the head of the bolt., which will have to take that torque (force LCA * distance new towards old bolt holes) :shock:

@Micke, new attempt.

First roll will be reduced. Due to the effect that when the suspension goes into the droop stop, the negative stiffness of the inner wheel will become infinite.

The only advantage of the droop stop I then can imagine:
You reduce the suspension travel very brutal on the limit, which will give you a smaller work area of the suspension. Resulting in less change of camber etc during the complete range. So you are better able to tune it and use your tires more efficient.

If this alu-thing is so dangerous I could easily watercut new once in ST37/52 mild steel :).

No need. Good alloy.

250MPa Yield and 10% elongation at break. I'd still periodically check them for cracks though.

Good try Maurizio but wrong.

the biggest problem with the setup is the abrupt limit. This should be softened by a cushion on the droop stop.
