I still dont have coilovers and I am now leaning toward the option of bilsteins and coilover adaptors from: http://www.pitstopusa.com/SearchResult. ... oryID=3691
Will these (or somthing similar) work with the bilsteins that are available for our cars? They are for 36mm body shocks and 1 7/8 in springs.
I am sure somebody has used something like this. What problems am I up against? Is it possible to avoid problems with the upper suspension arm by flipping the shock upside down?

My setup is very similar. Bilsteins built to coil overs with the threaded tubes.
Mine are, however, for 2,25" springs and I don't thing they'd fit the smaller ones.
I could measure but it is -23 deg C outside!!

As far as my memory recalls standard bilsteins have an outside diameter of 50 mm so these won't fit. But there are somewhere tubes for sale which fit the 50mm housing and using 2.25" springs.

Can't find the place anymore which sells them.

I will be on the lookout for 2.25 springs and bilstein adaptors. So far, all I can find is 2.5in and larger. Does anyone think that would fit? I am guessing it would be too large. I may need a custom upper suspension arm.

I had not seen the one on pitstopusa! I even called and they told me they had nothing of the sort...
Now to find 2.25in springs, unless you guys think I would be ok with 2.5in ID springs.

Depends how stiff you want to go.
It would probably be better with helpers. Even then you need to decide how stiff (whether the do anything but keep the spring in place).

I'm wanting to stiffen up my front end a bit w/o going to huge torsion bars
and sway bars. I'm thinking that coilover adapters and a Verde sway
bar would stiffen the front up w/o ripping it apart.

So I am looking for first hand experiences or recommendations if anyone
has converted normal konis over to sleeved coilovers.

I think a 27mm swaybar would be a killer unless you have the big torsion bars to go w it.

BTW:What is the stock diameter of GTV6 torsion bars ?

If you put a "heavier" sway bar on you better strengthen the attchment points - it will tear apart. Performatek sells plates that can be welded in for that purpose.

Yeah. I agree 100%. A 27mm sway bar would rip straight off.
My GTV6 has a 20mm front right now, so a 24mm seems like it would
be a good step up but not so much that I rattle all the other suspension parts
off. Addco can make a 25mm sway bar but I have never seen anyone
on the boards who use it.

It looks like Koni does have sleeves and such for the alfetta/milano style
front shocks. They have an 2.25" ID. Anyone converted their Konis ?

BTW. Jes. Was one of the cars at the transaxle tech session at the convention
yours ? this is either yours or Junglejustices RSR setup right ?

The blue 3.7 is mine. Ron put some of it on for that, but I'm uncertain which car he used to show the RS suspension. Could also have been John's black verde...
