Cracked front shock mount. Cause for concern?

Post by fly_lice »

Kinda wanted to post a picture- but I haven't got the skills.

I was in the process of fitting new shocks and noticed that one of the top mounts has a ~5cm length crack in it right underneath where the shock seats.
I will likely attempt to get it welded or something.

Question is, is this common and should I worry too much about it?

Thanks all.

Possible at some stage the wrong shocks were fitted. Anyhow, not a serious issue to repair and once done, as long as you presently have the correct dampers in place, there is no reason for ongoing concern.
