27.3 mm torsion bars

Post by PietereQ »

Since the restoration project of my GTV6 is about to launch, I think it's also opportunity to enhance the performance of the car. It's no brainer that stock suspension is a bit too soft for a decent sports car. Hence my question to those who have 27 mm torsion bars: did handling got better after installation of these? Are they still soft enough for everyday streetuse?
Thanks,
Pete

I run 28.7mm, I find them perfect for the street with light track application :)

I think 27mm would be good also.

I got 27mm bars in my Giulie, improved the handling a lot and it's still not so stiff that it breaks your back after 40 mins of city driving, I think it's a great upgrade, better still are coilovers, less weight

Great! Thanks guys. Do you think that it's also necessity to change the anti roll bar to accompany the 27.3 mm t-bars? By the way how much the t-bars weigh?

The bars are pretty heavy, heavier than the stock ones for sure, i'd say probably about 40 or 50kg both, that's just a guess, I currently have the stock anti roll bars, handling is pretty nice, much better than stock, the car has much more grip and doesn't roll that much.. :D
