Speedline Wheels

I want to refinish the Speedline wheels on my car. What was the original finish? Mine have a dull magnesium look to them. I've considered having them media blasted and then applying a clear coat, or painting them with SEM silver wheel coat with a clear coat finish. I guess polishing them would be an option, but seems like it would be a time consuming job. I also need a source for center caps.
I'll eventually replace with after market wheels, but I'd like to get a few more miles out of them since the tires are almost new and I want to buy new seat covers and suspension upgrades rather than buy new wheels and tires at this time. Feedback appreciated

Come on guys, I'm tired of gray wheels. Surely someone has some feedback for me.

I don't get it, is there a question in there somewhere? :)

The question was, "WHAT WAS THE ORIGINAL FINISH ON THE SPEEDLINE WHEELS?". The second question involved the finish options to recondition the wheels. Thanks for the great feedback.

My humble apologies oh Alfa Guru. My car is an 85 with the METRIC SPEEDLINE PHONE DIAL wheels. Actually they don't appear to have been painted, but considering their poor condition at this time, I can't be sure. Hence my original question. Thanks again for your valued input.

Silver paint works just fine. However silver powder coating is a better option if you want to spend the extra cash.
