Powerflex bushings

I oredered a set of front inner control arm bushings from alfabill.com (the pff1-201's) and when i went to press those "easy to install- two piece" bushings there was no way for me to fit the metal sleeve in once i put the bushings into the control arm. The id and od of the sleeve seem to be too large. The factory bolt has a good 2-3mm of play inside the sleeve... it is just floating around in there! Meanwhile powerflex.uk takes forever to return an email. Any help is much appreciated.

I put those in my '86 GTV6 a few years ago and had no problem, maybe someone changes the factory bolt? Maybe a bad batch of metal bushings from Powerflex...

incidentally I have a set of that bushing laying around in my glovebox. Could you take some measurements so we can compare our sleeves? Id, od and total lenght maybe and I'll do the same.

when i ordered from alfabill i was first sent the incorrect part number (pff1-201) which is for the inner control arm on the 115 series cars and this is the small stubby bushing on the right side of the pics. the 116 bushing is on the left. the metal bushing on the bottom is a "steer rite unit from alfaheaven.com. the sleeves are placed next to the corresponding bushing. the id of the metal sleeve for the 115 is 10mm the od is 16mm. the id of the metal sleeve for the 116 is 12mm and the od is 19mm. the inner and outer diameters of the both the 115 (201) and 116 (301) bushings are the same (15mm/35mm). the steer rite has a 35mm od and 10mm id.
i think the sleeve is the wrong size... there is no way to get that in there.

That is pretty funny (to me anyway) about the inner metal tube being the wrong size. I bought a set from the same person 2 YEARS ago and was told ' they're working on it '!!! I gave him the proper dimensions and it only seemed to be the tube that was incorrect. Perhaps I will try to get him to make it right... Or try Performatek - Andy really cares about getting the best stuff!

i have decided to deal directly with powerflex.uk. i sent them an email a few days ago and they said they would sort it out for me. if they that i have to go through alfabill.com then i will try that, but i would really rather not... i would never buy another product from that website again... good thing he doesnt sell anything else

besides... iap has the correct part for a fact because greg gordon installed them on his super verde project. i can only assume that alfabill bought the first batch of bushings from pf and never got the correct setup

IAP's are a first rate product. I have seen bushings from Andy at Performatek (in fact I have some here right now I am sending to a friend) and they are just as good. Either would be an excellent choice. If I had to chose between them I really couldn't. At one time Alfa Bill's bushings were the only ones we could get so a few hassles were worth it. My dad's GTV6 does have the full set from ALFA Bill and they have held up well in over 120,000 miles of hard use.
