Dedion with camber

Post by Zamani »

OK, I know this has been discussed before, but the discussion is scattered in a few places.

I'm getting a dedion with camber in a few months (already put in an order for one :) ). Not going with anything radical.

-2 camber
0 toe
lowered watts linkage pivot point

Any comments?

I will try to paste some older posts or links on this thread.

What kind of comment do you want?
Congratulations for a smart order maybe.

Remember to compensate for the lowered RC with appropriate springs.

Is that all you have to say? I was expecting more, like "So when do we come over with beer and schnitzels to celebrate the occasion" ???!!!!

But hey, thanks for the spring ratel tip. :D

If you're around, I'd be glad to sit down for some beer and schnitzel.

Else nothing special. As MZ said tuning with a AR bar (either front or rear is also OK).
As the inner wheel will lose some grip I'd check the LSD while mounting the DeDion. If it's not already tuned with 4 clutch plates I would recommend it.

Why would it lose grip?

Well - if the outer tire has negative camber, the inner will have positive. At least as long as we're talking std DeDion. The evo with camber gain can be different.
This does reduce grip - no?

Oh, Right. I got stuck in the spring/AR-bar discussion.

nope, no more info.

Photo's were on a tab of the http://www.nick-humphrey-motorsport.co.uk page, about 5-6 years ago... I guess restoration pics of a customers car.

I especially like the leafspring between the dion sides, to camouflage the irs and leave a dion impression 8)

I think Nick is retired from the Alfa racing scene a year or two ago. Sold his race cars.
