Can anyone ID these rims?

Post by Terafrost »

Hey all,

I was looking at a GTV the other day with wheels on it that I hadn't seen before.
At first I though aftermarket, but the owner assured me they were dealer fitted back in 85, along with the zender wing and momo trimmings in the cabin (shifter knob, steering wheel). Of course me being the fool that I am, didn't think to look closer whilst I was near the car!

I have seen these rims on another post in the Intro gallery - an 87 GP, it is on another silver car a few posts into the thread. Both vehicles with these wheels are the same sivler colour and Australian built.

Can anyone shed light on the situation?
Zender? Surely not momo...

Terafrost,

I think those are Compomotive rims. They were used on a couple of promotion GTV6's when they came out in Australia. I believe the cars were called Andalusia and were painted white, including the Momo interior. If I am not mistaken, they were 15 x 7 Compomotive split rims. The one in the picture seems to be missing the centre caps.

Thanks for getting back to me!
I was looking into the Andalusia and found this:

Turns out they were fairly different and used a compomotive tele-dial style wheel (as you can see in one of the latter posts of the thread linked above). Have only seen two sets, both on silver cars with body coloured bumpers and grill, along with the momo trimmings.

Anyone else got any ideas?

We had an option for these on our GTV 3.0 . I personally think it was the finest , lightest compomotive rim to come on an Alfa. Good brake cooling hence I use them over the origional compomotives on race car. The two makes I think are CX and DX.
