Depends on where they are made, i've had good results here with Toyo Vi Mode tires on my 33, it's good and not hiper expensive as french Michelins (best sport tire in my opinion)

Would use the 205/55/15 however, the 205/60 is to overgeared while for good handling out gtv 3.0 here came out with 205/50 as standard. Horribly under geared but great for handling.

I feel the 1st and 2nd gears on the 84 GTV6 to short for street use with 205/55R15. For track use 205/55R15 will be the better option maybe but for street I may try the 205/60R15.

For the street I really like 205/60-15 tires. I wonder if 215/60-15 tires will fit. Yokahama makes some in that size.

Do 205/60 15 not scrub on the front guards given the OD is 12mm greater than OEM 195/60 15?

I know the 205/55/15 on my old GTV went damn close.

Ok, 205/60-15 tires fit the GTV6 with no problems, I have used a few different brands in that size, it's never a problem.

It's also possible to fit 225/50-15 tires. I have done that, but the fronts will rub on the castor rods at full lock, and the rear suspension bushings have to be good (i.e. heim joints or poly) or they will rub when the body shifts back and fourth on the watts linkage during hard cornering.

Thanks Greg, is that with standard 15x6 45mm offset rims?

Yes, that's with stock 81'-84' GTV6 wheels. I haven't used the 1986 wheels, and obviously the 1985 wheels just won't work with these tires.

I am running 225/45-17 on my GTV 2.0. I will check offset and post pics if anyone really wants to know!
