Road performance and gearboxes?

Hi Folks!

I need advice about how to upgrade my cars road handling. This is how my car is set up today:

GTV6-83
24mm Torsion Bars
Monroe Shocks
The flexible cushions on the radius rod are changed to power-flex

The car is far to soft for my taste and I look for a bit more firm handling. How have you been upgraded your cars?

Gearbox:

On which models are the gearbox with "better" gear ratio mounted?

Best wishes,

Jonas

Hi, I have upgraded my GTV6 with an alfa 75 twinspark box, this has the added advantage of limited slip diff and better gear changes together with a re-disigned gear lever from Alex Jupe motorsport UK.
The suspension is a coilover fast road set up from Ron Simmons and handles like its on rails. I hope this helps in your quest to find a better drive.

Bilstein shocks
105 caster ball joints
stiffer springs all 'round

Enjoy. ;)

The TS box is by far the best standard box you can fit.

I thought the 75 Turbo had the best box, better driveshaft donuts too.

Turbo 3.9:1
TS 4.1:1

Driveshaft donuts? How would you fit a 75 driveshaft on a GTV?

75 Turbo driveshaft and donuts are the same as v6
I installed TS gear box on my Turbo for better acceleration.

Thanks!

Thank you all for your replies, it helps a lot. I like to spend my money and time upgrading and improving, not re-inventing what's already is invented.

By the way!

What parts do I need to be able to convert my original "116" caster assembly to the "105" caster ball joint? I found the parts att Highwoodalfa but are not sure what to order, please help.

You can see it also at www.performatek.com. You just have to order the Caster Rod Ball Joints and its Adaptor Kit. It's a bolt on upgrade

You're Swedish right?
Call up CC-motor and get the parts there, cheap enough and less hassle then getting them from another country.
I made a how-to for the whole procedure on alfapower.nu ( http://www.alfapower.nu/viewthread.php?tid=4565 )

That's just the way Mats shows it, but if you don't want to drill the car, you can use a thicker adapter like the ones in the picture. If youwant to do it yourself, take an exhaust gasket for the right shape

8) The original design of the performatec kit is from me.

I've got a set adaptor plates of the newer design on stock.
Aluminium adaptor for the wheel side and a stainless steel clamp plate for the motor bay side.

Cool, Maurizio!!

Are you selling that new kit?
In any case, what's the thickness of the Performatek's plates? 10mm?

I'm not sure what thickness my first design had, think that the drawing I sent to Andy was 8 or 10 mm :?

The new set is 8 mm thick alu adaptor plate and 4 mm clamp plate.

Do I want to sell, don't want to screw up this nice site with commercial blabla :x , I'll do a PM.
