BMW 318i front bumper/skirt compatibility?

Post by BotswanaAlfa »

Hi all, as the name suggests i live in botswana, (no alfa dealer) i have the only gtv6 2.5 here :D
there was something i noticed, the old bmw 318i matchbox, approximately the same age as the alfa series (1983-1986) have very similar looking front ends, as seen uin the link below:

Everything can be modified to fit, it doesn't mean it's a good idea to do so... ;)

Personally I would never try it, is your Alfa front destroyed?

its been ripped in half, the mounting points are ruined and the skirt is shattered :/ the bumper is only bent by about 20 degrees  i just thought they looked similar enough to be cross compatible and may even look good, i ask because there are thousands of the "gusheshe" bmw here. so i wouldnt stuggle to find parts. also i believe the bmw and that alfa share some parts like fuel pump and fuel system too, theyre both bosche?

If possible to repair enough to arrive at the original shape and dimensions, why not make a fiberglass one as a replacement. If it is a good outcome, you may even be able to make some extra ones and recover your costs or save for next time?
