High curent ignition driver circut

Post by tImBoWe »

Step 65: The high current ignition circut. I presume that I should go this way to use a signal from the coil?

Tim Step 65 is an output not an input assembly. It is the circuit that allows MSII to directly control the ignition coil and yes you need this unless you use some additional add-on control module. You will be eliminating the Bosch ignitor module (see image) and MSII will take over its functions (Dwell etc) so make sure you change your coil wiring when you do the install ( coil+ supplied +12V from relay and coil - from MSII terminal #36.You'll also have to make a connection from the coil - to your tach wire.

Step 50 section b) is where you set-up the input signal from the coil. You sure you want to go this way ? The hall signal is much "cleaner" and easier to tune with.

OK up with it now. So I have allready built the VR circurt as per step 51. So should go back and install the Hall circut also and jumper what I need to? I will do a search for a Hall sensor install.

Thanx Again

Tim.
