How tough is this to do? I'm going to have the engine out soon anyway and want to install what is needed for EDIS conversion on my GTV6. Anyone done it yet?

Cheers,

interesting question for me as well. I hope someone can enlighten us here. i have my 2.5L engine out now for fitment of highcompression pistons, new cams and a valvejob. Could fit a EDIS wheel at the same time if it is not too difficult.

How does Edis compare to other spark control systems for the alfa engine ?

I did find some good info on the web - from the Imp club of all places...

It does not look too difficult - and is supported by MS3.

Has anyone completed this conversion successfully? I have taken a look at the crank trigger ring and I am having a hard time working out the fit without mucking up the harmonic balance offset of the pully. It looks to me, that this ring can only be mounted on the front side of the pully so that it clears the water pump pully.

Please let me know, I can get all the parts i need for this conversion from the bone yard and would really like to do it.

If you want to do something like that you have to use the waterpump of a 75QV! Why not using everything from the QV? Pump and Crankpully which allready has the ring on it because of its Motronic EFI?

I'll do that in Summer with my 75. Convert it to Motronicstyle pully and use that for triggering the MS.....

I am trying to set up a megasquirt II system with EDIS system using the EDIS parts from a ford V6 because their system does not require a cam position sensor. It uses the crank sensor only.

Besides 75QV parts are not easily founed in the states and I am on a budget.

The ford system also allow for greater control of the spark advance using a laptop computer to make the adjustments.
