1: I had a "Jim Spec" head laying around
2: The weak link will be the gearbox and I can break that easily with this setup

A TS would be nice but I won't build one just for the sake of having a TS.

Carbs? :?
Proteins, carbs and fat, all nutrients... 8)

It will be injected. Hardware is already in my garage, DTA S80.

I actually pretty much have all the parts that is available off the shelf for the build, the whole build. Pistons are due to arrive any day now and I will order some stuff as soon as I'm done with the design. Engine is in the machine-shop for check-up and balancing.

Well you would be suprised how many "engine tuners" here still use carbs for turbo applications....maybe you wanted the retro look?? hahah

Now that part of the secret came into the light....i'm wondering what you are going to do for gearbox...?

Sorry, been based for 5 days in Sao Paulo in a Hotel, i'm so bored I can't even spell my name...

Checked their web page, awesome ECU, I bet the price is steep though....

I looked at the S80 specs. I guess anyone who likes the DL-1's flexibility would like the S80 :) .

Guess no-one thought that the fact that I laser scanned the head in my garage was as interseting as I did.

"There's no end to the possibilities"
 I am a few days offline and suddenly there are the coolest tools available
So you had acces to a 3d scanner. Heard of such an apparatus... never seen one.
What sizes can you scan?
What do you get out of it something like step or parasolid.

Hmmm, the possibilities 8)

Finally someone see it the way I do.. :)
It's totally scaleable, from 1x1cm or something to maybe a house. You just need the appropriate laser (i.e. very powerful to scan a house...).

I get .stl files, meshed polygons. Absolute crap to work with so you need to rebuild them into something useful if you're going to use them to manufacture anything. But is beats the hell out of a point cloud anyway. 8)

It will be a breeze to get the chassis mount points pefectly into CAD now though, some serious studies can be done at last.
Joint venture?

Cool.

I'll do some tuning of the scanner and see if I can get something smoother out of it before New Year. 8)

You like parasolid?

Picked up the "new" rims today, 9x17". 235mm wide tires makes it a bit more durable. It will leave room for bigger brakes, good thing I already have the calipers. New Brembo 4-pots. :)

Ordered the intercooler and some other junk too. 8)
