Hey Mats, are the ES30 discs still expensive? Last time I looked they were like 280 euro a pair or something.

Will be reading your blog, as I'm hoping to build a turbo Alfetta out of the 79' 2.0 I have at my house.

Very jealous of your 155 too. If we had 155's here I would be using that as a daily driver. I'm using a stock 164LS 24V right now and it eats gas at a rapid rate.

I got the ES30 discs used but unused, i.e. from a private seller that hadn't had them out of the box yet. :)
So the price wouldn't really tell you anything.

The 155 is parked in (on purpose) by the GTV, needs a cambelt service and that's not going to happen before the GTV is race ready. 8)
I really miss driving it though, and now that the streets are cleared from all the sand/gravel they have used during the winter I really want to drive it. :?

Thanks about the blog, if all goes well there will be an update later this evening (Swedish time). :)

How do I oil the head? What do you mean?

How the oil flows to the head? Why mess with something that works? :)

Nice rod bolts. Looks like "standard type"' headgasket set up coming. Whats thickness of headgasket . On my 16v 2.0 (Fiat -alfa) there are three types of thicknesses which my Alfa dealer did not even know. Gain huge on squish with all hard work but then lose with incorrect gasket.

Tnx.

I switched out the "ARP bolts" that came with the rods to real ARP 2000 bolts, the ones that came with the rods didn't even have a washer and the finish was dull.

Stock gasket yes, AFAIK there is only one thickness on the Alfa ones, Fiat gasket comes in a few as you say.
The aim was to have the head ready to mount on the block but the new gasket set was missing a (1) valve seal.

Wow, that is supercool to see this engine finally becoming a reality. I'dont recall you stating this, but what HP/Nm figures we'll be looking at?

Thanks, it's been a while. Sorry about that. :)

Realistically around 300Hp, hoping for more. Torque? Guess I'll have to limit it to under 400Nm to keep the box together. Not a big issue if you like to rev it, like me.

Mats,
Just interested - what's your life expectation for a motor like that (baring any problems) one race season? GV

More like 10 seasons. Everything is way oversized. I'm more worried about everything else, gearbox for instance. :?

After I wrote that I thought "Nah, it must be good for a few at least" Still, that's pretty impressive considering you're what, doubling the hp! GV
