Murray, I forgot to mention that it once snowed in Johannesburg 25 years ago. You have never seen so many car accidents in one afternoon.
Anyway here are some of the specs
pic 3 Original 1985 GTV 3.0L (only 212 built)
pic 4 Restored 1984 GTV 3.0L ( seven made in charcoal and three fuel injected)
pic 5 was 2.5 now 3.2 GTA conversion
pic 6 was 2.5 then 3.0L twin turbo now 3.3 24v using 3.0l crank porsche pistons on an existing 156 2.5 24v engine.
pic 7 3.3 24v with custom sump waiting to be brocken on a speed bump. Must make sump guard.
pic 13 this side view shows why the bigger bulge on bonnet was created.
pic 14 engine of 3.3 24v runs Haltech with Ap front calipers.

Some new additions to our family . My wife has finally converted and bought a GT. Thats a sign when you know Alfa are starting to make quality cars as she has always been an Audi fan.
The Multipla is my sisters and thats the good old reliable 164 still going strong.

Hey Kevin, how much did that GTA motor cost, how much did you spend to put it in the gtv6 and is it modified or is a std 250 hp?
My gtv6 is slow, compared to my father´s E36 3.2 euro M3, and I will have to replace pistons, cams, etc.... soon. So maybe for a litle more money that I will spend in my tired 2.5 12v motor I can put a 250hp GTA motor, and problem solved.
Does someone know if the top speed limiter of the e36 euro M3 can be deleted without using a chip?

Hi Lucass, this car has cost to date including buying it about R100000 South African Rand. Check your conversion. Bought the car ten years ago with sixty thou km on clock, only on seventy though now, for R30 000. Bought brand new 164 3.0 24v motor in crate for R16000.(normal cost to joe public would have been about R50000.) Took about a year to figure out and install the motor in my garage at home.(no internet details then and did not want to ask Dawie how to do it as I saw it as a challenge. I ran it on a motronic system with a unichip. I had to make headers , intake tubes, alternator brackets etc. If some one else to to make all these parts it probably would have cost about R6000.
I then decided it was not good enough and bought GTA crank ,pistons, cams for about R10 000 and a Haltec system for R15000 removed motor from car and asked Barry(friend of mine) to reassemble it with the new parts as his experience on multivalve motors was far superior to mine at that stage (and still is). He did a brilliant job on assembly and Haltec installation and runs as smooth as a factory car.
When doing the original installtion of the 3.0l 24v I made templates for all the parts I made and got all the laser cutting for all the flanges, brackets, flywheel spacers on disc so when we did my dads car it took only two weeks to do. and another week for Barry to install the Haltec.
Rest of the cost is brakes ,wheels, repray and minor maintenance.
Personal opinion - if you dont have access to machine shops, laser cutting, good exhaust shop , ECU installers, DONT start this project . Rather stay with the 12v and go big bore or forced induction.
I dont unfortunately keep any of these templates any more to export as it came to costly(freight charges).
Lennart if you are reading this I still have much improved bottom flanges for headers which dont leak(male and female parts) which you can have. Mail me me on private line for your address.
