Mats

It's a TS engine in my Alfetta race car.
The stage one of the headers terminate where you see them now into a coupling plate to stage two. However it could be a place for a turbo instead.

(Have a look at my race car's engine bay.)

Yeah I figured it was some sort of TS head but I still think something is different...
Maybe I need to have a closer look at the half dozen ones I have laying around in my garage...

Mats,

Here's the finished item again. Plenty of clearance all around for turbo.

Yes, plenty. Can't believe how much room that narrow head creates. :o

You would probably have clearence issues between the #1 primary and the compressor housing though, but that's an easy fix.

Looks nice to have the steering column on the right... :)

I'm coughing my ribs off my spine and now I have a parking ticket...

I knew I had too much fun during easter.

Got a call I have been waiting for a while (since about October actually), my pistons are in Sweden! :D
So after shitloads of problems including swapping to another supplier, went to Ross instead, they are finally here... Too bad I can't go pick them up! :?
On the other hand they're already at my engine machine shop. Happy-happy-joy-joy! :)

Why drag around the extra weight when there is enough torque to break the gearbox even with a mildly boosted 4-cyl? eh?

Mats , what rings you using with Ross pistons - (Total Seal) ?

I have no idea, didn't specify.
Sent a sample piston, bore, ring position, pin height/dia, valve reliefs, CR and that's about it. Also gave them what I will use them for (Turbo Race).

Not sure about total seal to be honest...

Found out I have designed the manifold with pipes that have the wrong bend radius.
Guess I have to make another design, again. :(

This one will be more compact though. 8)

Got some AN10 couplings for my oil system, nice and black.
Notice the AN6 stuff at the front, small... :)

Still very light though. 8)

Also made a new design of the turbo manifold, this is it. Will start cutting hardware this week.

Primary length down to around 415mm now. Nice and clean design too, I'm happy.
My welding guy is not so happy though.

Mats,

Does that design software also break up the header into sections? I.e. is it able to tell you how many 90 degree, 60 degree, 45 degree bends you need, the section of each length you need?

Yep, that's the beauty!
I can generate a complete cutting spec on degrees, lengths straight and how much twist angle in between each segment. Cuts down (pun intended) time in the workshop I can tell you.

This afternoon I spent in the garage cutting out parts of my roll cage...
Now I have reached the turning point, from now on there will be no more disassembly. From now on there will only be pics of stuff going in to the car. :D

Maybe I can pick up my engine parts tomorrow! That would be fantastic, only about 6 months late...

Mats,

That header setup is looking good. The only addition I can suggest is to make the flange a 6 bolt instead of a 4 for more uniform clamping around the perimeter. I don't know how it would work out for location but it could also be possible to terminate the four-into-one-collector then flange.Maybe easier to weld up?
