Repalced clutch master today. However, the return spring is rusted and broken (the coil spring that surrounds the rubber bellows under dash )

Anyone have a spare??

Anyone rig up a return spring system that works?

I purchased the IAP aluminum radiator. Very nice unit, fits almost perfectly except when using stock fans, the lower fan mounts touch the body. The IAP radiator comes with the necessary two studs on the bottom. These fit perfectly and the original rubber spacers fit them as well.

The top mount needed some grinding to get a good fit. I used the Centerline radiator two piece rubber spacers (for the older alfas...7$). fits perfectly.

The IAP radiator comes with a drain cock, no way that was fitting in there. So replaced it with 1/4 NPT plug. No issues.

The fans and radiator are a tight squeeze when installoing and you have to remove the thermostat housing sensors. Temp sensor very close and I may trim the fan housing a little nex time around...

Fired right up and no leaks this time! :P :P :P

Now both fans work...kick on at ~190-195. Thermostat opens at ~180 or so. Everything actually working just great for once!

How are those fan motors , do they spin freely. Had one sieze which overheated harness then set car alight as fuse is on wrong side of relay.. From that day always fitted the Kia shuma fan. Quick remedy was to drill 3mm hole in back of fan centre and inject a little oil. Most radiators you have to take out sender unit.

Fan motors OK. I definately checked them well. No shaft wobble...easy turning. I have had a few rusty/siezed ones. In fact, i had to junk one of the original fans and get a 'new' used one from APE. They are now blowing in the right direction and running smoothly.

Good idea about the fuse. I will put two in line near fans. I have a spare 18 inch thin profile fan just in case these burn out.

Bought a set of rims today. 18racing Rota r's 15 x 7.

Nice looking rims and some good reviews. Price is good. I looked at MANY different styles. unfortunately, Ronal is not in USA anymore. I really like the Serpentauto ones, and Charlie's price is good too. But I just did not fall in love with the style.

But then I saw these (pic below) and I really like the idea of keeping the stock rim size (I am not putting on big rotors this year)

I really wanted Schmidt rims but they are 500$ apiece and heavy... and hard to get.

I was going to redo my stockers, but the cost would be as much as new Rota's.

And, 225 60 16 tires are cheap and all over (even sport summer ones)

...for near same circumference i will be using 225 50 15's .

I just don;t know why these cars pass through idoits hands and get all jangled up before I get them.

So far:
1) fixed wiring mess
2) fixed radiator mess (new hoses, thermostat, clamps, fans, wiring, radiator, mounts, expansion tank)
3) fixed broken driveshaft
4) Fixed exhaust mess (hanging wrong, banging on brakes, new rear section)
5) found that BRAND NEW Konis were installed ..but someone forgot a rubber bushing(the lower one of the upper rear set) and then tried to tighten the upper rear nuts by screwing up the threads with pliers...) "gee what is that banging sound I hear ALL THE TIME!!!"
6) new intake bellows because the old one had a huge hole in it. New vacuum lines because the other ones had holes and missing and broken. wow..idle is 750-800rpms...nice.
7) fixed all gauges except speedo
8) fixed tail and plate lights
9) lubed sunroof track
10) cleaned and primed rust areas

Next:
New engine
New transmission (because second gear on this one is somewhere in Texas)
All new suspension (someone put new upper and lower ball joints up front...but then lowered the car and did nothing for the alignment...doh)

Anyway...got it running well enough to go for ride today...need new torsion rods and rear springs. Otherwise pretty good!

It is a good deal. I will check quality when they arrive. Apparently, these are made in the phillipines, but have a good reputation.
