Re: Hello, newish GTV6 Owner in Los Angels

Thank you, Mats. That means a great deal to me coming from you. It's been a very long haul...with a bit to go.

The plate is a UK plate, with option colour, but the frame is a German one I had laying around until I can have one made which says Alfa Romeo on it. It's technically illegal to run with a vanity plate on the front bumper in Los Angeles but I shall have a CA plate on the rear and just pay the fines.

Cheers,

R.

Your Alfa is looking good. I am sure you are glad that your almost done. Hope to see it one day. Are you going to Monterey this year? I hope to go there this year with my Alfa.

What if you both come to the AROSC Track event at Buttonwillow, CA ? I want to invite all transaxle Alfa Owner there so we can have a small informal get together.

Congrats on the progress - still think the color choice is just excellent! Since I don't have any plans for a Callaway in mine can you give some details on the Mazda A/C... as in what was done and just how well does it work? GV

Thanks Greg.

After nearly three years I pick it up on Tuesday! Just finished the Magnaflow exhaust and wow!!! The sound it nuts and it even seems to have a bit more oomppf. Will snap pics of the exhaust system up on the lift before I pick it up.

All that is left is to reinstall the navigation unit and done!

Cheers,

R.

After nearly three years, my Callaway is done.

Post by rhodes1 »

Long road and very well worth it. Took it for a nice long drive and enjoyed every moment. My Callaway Twin-Turbo is done save for a bit of work to the hood scoop and re-install of navigational headunit. Currently has 980 miles on it and at 1,500 will go back to Historic Race Engineering for a final tuning to the motor. According to Greg Armstrong at 328 hp with hopes of another 10-15 after final tune. Had Magnaflow build a very nice complete exhaust system for the Alfa which gives a Le Mans sounding growl. Nirvana at the turn of an ignition key.

A few snaps at time of delivery. I ought mention the Callaway has not yet had a complete detail which it badly needs. The car was painted in 2006 and has not been touched since. It's dirty.

Cheers,

R.

Two additonal engine bay images. Forgive the flashlight holding up the hood. The plastic lock which holds the hood arm up needs to properly fastened. It's on the to do list.

Like wow, man ! Enough to give a jellyfish a horn.
Forget watching TV, I'd be tempted to put my favourite chair on the driveway and just look at it all day. :D :D :D

Serious congratulations require here.
