Callawayesqe Wing Fitted
Hello all.
I am not to clever when it comes to this internet thingy so please excuse if I've posted this in the wrong location, but it is done with best intensions. One of you had quiered me with regard to the wing bits. Below are a few images of it to give an idea of the finished product. It remains to be painted which I suppose will be done in the next day or two. Forgive quality of images but I am not in town at the mo and they are being posted along to me from the blokes doing the bang out.
Best Wishes and have fun!
Richard

Richard, just keep posting under your previous topic...
You make the wing yourself?
Now you might find this hard to follow, but we did some earodynamic testing of a Gtv6 in the Denel windtunnel(Our arms manufacturer).A friend of mine is the chief hamburger in an attack helicopter project.
We got this gtv6 in the tunnel and start playing with wings..The end results were amazing. The wing was almost parrallel to the down swept rear hatch, bar 15 degree angle..Anything else was a big drag earodynamicly...We towed this car to a race track soon afterwards and found we could not go faster than 140 km/h with the tow truck..We stopped and changed the angle of the rear wing on the race car and picked up another 20 kays/hr..
Something interesting...

Interesting.
Hello Barry, interesting. I did have to read it a few times, but believe I've got the gist of it now. So, more than likely, the wing will be a drag, no pun intended.
As for the rims, I picked them up through Charlie di Marco at Serpent Motorsports. The body kit is the GT kit which I went through absolute hell to get hold of, took nearly three months and the side bits were frightfully weak. My glassers touched it up and put rods through the back to make it more ridgid. Try Alfa Ricambi for the GT body kit.
Best Wishes and many thanks for the helpful comments.

Wing for Callaway
Hi again Barry, I did forget to mention, with regard to the wing, it was created using images of the original Callaway by one of the restorers of the GTV-6. His a fiberglass specialist and will also produce the correct hood scoop now that I've purchased a Callaway motor for the car.
Getting interesting, but I am quite unnerved about putting in an engine I know nothing about.
Best Wishes

Hey Rhodes
Congratulations on the Callaway auction.I was the equal second highest bidder myself and Callaway owner both bid the same amount. Are you saying you have seen the engine you say new/old engine??? like new old stock?
I would have bid heaps more if I knew that. The seller told me he knew nothing of the history ie km's he couldnt even tell me if it ran or not?
If that the case you got yourself a great deal.
Hey I would be interested in a couple of scoops and wings if you can get a couple more made ?
Thanks mate John

I think that spoiler looks really nice. I am sure it creates drag but it will probably add downforce so there may be a practical benifit. Of course these are cars most of use have to enjoy so even if there is no practical benifit if you like the way it looks that's all that matters.
Congratulations on the Callaway motor. Even if you have to overhaul it it's worth it. I would add forged pistons and I would probably dump the additional injector controller and the two fuel injectors that spray fuel in BEFORE the intercooler and go with something else. If you get rid of the AFM you can make a cold air box and not have to cut a hole in the fender as Calloway did originally.

Hey Bazza, you been sniffin' your parts washer again in your tea break haven't you? Come on now own up !We stopped and changed the angle of the rear wing on the race car and picked up another 20 kays/hr..
You changed the angle from what to what
..and this is a message from your mum ( she found out what you have been up to) she wants to know WTF were you thinking doing 160 in a truck towing another vehicle buster? She said for your penance, make a generous donation to the Salvation Army and say two Hail Mary's for the next fortnight.
If you are gonna do the business, do the Joe Beninca thing I say..

Transaxle Alfas Haul More Arse
Mike,The car was the ts turbo that my mate Franco owns.
The wig is rather huge and was setup as we thought the conventional setup should be,angled ront down for downforce..How bout one fat big airbrake instead!
Btw,this is part of a Cessna wing section apparently..it looks the buzz.
Wing was set parrallel to the hatch and we got a bit more speed..
