Hi
I have been guest browsing this forum for some time and found a lot of useful information and interesting threads.
Here are a presentation of me and my car.
My name is Mats Forssén and I was born in Örnsköldsvik, in north of Sweden. Since 2001 I live in Stockholm which for instance makes the traveling to the race circuits around the country easier.
During a couple of seasons I drove my Alfa 156 TS SW on track days but after a while I wanted to have a car more suited for track driving. The spring 2005 I bought a GTV6 that had been used in competitions before and therefore was a complete and “ready” race car with roll cage and so on. That summer I drove it on three track days to get familiar with the car.
Although the initial purpose wasn’t to compete the idea came up quickly since the car was ready for it. In May 2006 it was time for my race debut in our national Alfa Romeo racing league, “Club Alfa Romeo Challenge”. The goal was to get to start and finish in every one of the eight races the first season which I also did.
To the 2007 season I have converted the steering rack to get 2.1 turns instead of the original 3.5:ish. An engine replacement is also on the way but it is still much to do.
Car facts:
Alfa Romeo GTV6
Engine:
standard 2,5 liters V6, currently converting to a standard 3,0 liters 24v from Alfa 164 Q4
Power:
119 kW, will be 170kW when 24v is in place
Weight:
approx 1130 kg with full gas tank (approx 30 liters) without driver
Gearbox:
From Alfa 75 TS (With LSD)
Rims:
Compomotive 8x15
Tires:
Kumho Ecsta V70 225-45
Front chassis:
Bilstein Pro
30 mm torsion springs
ball joints for caster
Tar-Ox 6 piston calipers
290 mm ventilated brake discs
Rear chassis:
Yellow Koni dampers
MT step 2 springs
Dedion modified for Toe-in
ventilated brake discs
original break calipers with SZ distance
SZ ball joint
Misc:
2x2 inch exhaust with 1 silencer at the back of each pipe
plastic windows all around (except the front window)
aluminum tank in the spare tire trunk
cache tank in aluminum
