Hello!

Post by gran turismo »

Hi,

I live in Portland, Oregon USA and I have a white 1985 GTV6 that I have owned since 1999. This car has the slightly cheezy, dealer installed Gran Turismo decal package, cloth interior, and no sun roof.

Suspension work by the previous owner includes heavy duty front and rear anti-sway bars, heavy duty rear springs, Koni Reds and has been lowered 2 inches or so.

About 2 years ago the engine started making a funny knocking noise which my mechanic diagnosed as either rod big end or main bearing. So long story short for the last couple of years I have been working on rebuilding a 3.0 for it.

This engine is getting pretty close and I am anxious to get it back on the road.

Here are some of the specs for it:
3.0 12V from a 1991 164L (yea, boring, I know)
heads shaved for 10.5:1 compression
reshaped intake and exhaust ports, valves, and combustion chamber
RJR cams (796/xxx with tight lobe centers)
lightened, polished, and shot peened stock rods
stock pistons with enlarged valve reliefs
lightened flywheel
bored out stock runners, maybe a custom intake
Shankle headers (modified for ground cleanrance and tuning)
Megasquirt II with direct coil control and SDS flying magnet hall sensor.

The info on this site has been a great help to me so far and maybe I can eventually give something useful back.

Kind Regards,

Jeff
