Tube strike is today and tomorrow and next week again . Auto Italia is at Brooklands museum in Weybridge . From Waterloo station to Weybridge is about 30 mins depending time of day . From station to show is about 10 mins walk . Check on google maps . Guys start getting there from about 9am . No shopping centres near there . Just leave the credit car with the missus at Selfridges :D

Auto Italia was awesome . I will post some pics of it during the week . I heard that there were over 1000 cars on show . It definitely was much bigger than last year . Some pics before the show with the two GTV together and also the 4c at the show . This weekend coming is AROC 50th anniversary at Boughton . I will go up in the Giulietta as I still need a driver and its bit far for the wife to drive the carbi 3.0 :D

Yeah bad guy was Charlto Copley . He really did put on a heavy accent even though he is a very English sounding serf efrikan . He went to school down the road from me . He also played Mad Murdoch an the A -team movie and was in District 9 . If you can handle Elysium its worth watching District 9 for the laughs . There were certain things in Elysium that us older Serf efrikan that were in the army can pick up is the insignias on the space craft even though the new SA flag was placed tiny on it . No one would have noticed otherwise . ( nothing bad - don't worry) .

At Auto Italia the Swedish Isotta Franschini stole the show . They just chucked a litre of fuel down the airbox and started the z24 litre monster and they did the uphill launch with it . The 4c was faster though :D
In background is Alex Jupes display he had on with his a Dino and the 75's that were in this months Auto Italia Magazine . The transaxles are having a great revival with good prices been fetched .

Last pics to be posted from Auto Italia day 2014 . Pic of James's 3.5 GTV with the beautiful SZ rims . Pic of Barry ( our AROC secretary for Surrey) next to the SA GTV 3.0 and two nice backsides ! ( sadly I mean GTV backsides). These carb engines always gets lots off attention.

This week was 0ctane magazines trackday at Goodwood . I thought it would great excuse to drive down there from my place (65miles) in my carbi GTV3.0 now that I'm bit more mobile . Unfortunately still due to my back injury I would not be able to go on track but just help out strapping passengers into cars for Alex .
I was extremely surprised at the amount of Alfas that arrived considering the wealth in that part of the country . But it turns out after chatting to a few guys that its far more enjoyable taking a modified Alfa out instead of their Bizzarini's or even their Ferraris . ( probably much cheaper to crash :D ) One old chap came to watch and parked his old S3 Spider amongst the cars he remarked this the had a 250 Lusso as well .
Amongst Aston v12's , Mk2 Jags, 2x GT40 , Dino Ferraris , Porsche cup cars , lotus's their were about eight Alfas in a approximate total of thirty cars .
Most of these eight Alfas came from clients of the two Alfa restores ie Alex Jupe and Ian Ellis who have their workshops in that part of the country .
I found pretty entertaining watching Ian in his beautiful light weight GTA replica race car trying to hang to the tail of Alex in his GTV 3.5 with road tyres . Two totally different cars but both supplying huge amounts of fun .
A 164 race prepped car , fully gutted on slicks with a 3.2 gta motor looked the part but due t its weight and gearing was easily overtaken on the main straight by the wid body 3.024v GTV ( lap 63 plates) . This car with its straight cut box and torque resilient tube design propshaft with three universals just did not miss a beat . This car had done so many track days with this prop set up that I'm totally convinced its the way to go when you eliminate all rubber couplings and have Torque resilient tube taking up all the vibration / harmonics . ( well the centre bearing rubber takes up harmonics as well ) .
Some pics to follow of a good day out and also snapped a few of a chap buckling up in the training Spitfire for a 30 min / £3000 flip .
