Barry,
You got me curious. I will make a point of getting it weighed and post the results. Whatever it weighs it weighs. It has all the appointments I want so I am not about to take it on a diet. Get back to you soon.

Hi MD,
Nice looking car you got there!!
I looks like you got Borbet A wheels, can you post a picture that shows better how they look on the car?
What size are your rims? 8x16" or 8X17?
Best regards
-Dan

Hi Dan
Wheel specifications are:-
Make: Borbet, GMBH
Design : Type "A"
Size : 7.5J x 16H2 inches
Offset : 35 Positive (less offset will foul front calliper)
Centre bore :58.5mm
Mount : 5x98mm centres
They still make the 9J X 16H with a 15 offset. These will fit the rears only.
In my opinion, a good strong wheel, matches the "wedge" period profile of the car and creates adequate cover for the rear axles. The latter benefit being that it avoids the response to dickhead questions from people like: "What, it don't got no rear brakes man ?''
Some would say they are a little heavy. However for road use, this may be actually preferrable to have a tough rim to deal with all sorts or road conditions that may otherwise damage a light wheel.

Thanks Kevin. Yes it does gets its share of admirers from people in the know about these cars. It also gets its share of cuirous lookers with wrinkled foreheads that want to know what model Fiat it is That's life.
Here is an update on the rear part of the selector.
Note the position of the fulcrum location. It's now on top as opposed to being on the bottom. Works much better. I quickly knocked up this modification and it worked so well, I decided to leave it even though it looks like a piece of engineering crap ( white component). To make it pretty, it could be made up of an aluminium triangular piece with race holes in it to make it sexy and light. Fortunately, it has a cover over the assembly, so it isn't something you would normally see. Oneday...
