heater motor

just wondering if anyone has ever replaced the noisy useless GTV6 heater fan with unit out of the 75/Milano, which is quieter and variable speed.
I have done a complete after market conversion using off the shelf components on an Alfetta that uses the same set up essentially but I doubt that you can just change the fan over as you would need to change the entire evap/heater/fan assembly box over and then customise around the console to make it neat.
Lots of work.
