Mats,the f40 sounds terrible!
Nothing more than a 4 cylinder sound! F50,oh yea! Now we talking..

Had a flat plane crank Autodelta Montreal engine here..Also sound like a plain 4 cylinder.

Just thinking here...the over run on an F40 is rather awsome...crackle and popping all the time... :D
French cars are shit and shit expensive to service and bloody awful and unreliable and expensive and friends don't let friends drive french cars and you wait years for parts.

So you're saying you like the sound of an american V8 over a Ferrari one? You must be drunk or deaf. :?

Put in an F355 engine. F355's sound trumps all other V8 ferrari engines.

But why not just an Alfa V6? They sound good. :D

Mats and Barry, I think you guys are getting lost in fantasy land. I seriously doubt either of you has a F40 or F50 motor sitting on the floor of you garage waiting for the right chassis.

Would you believe a Ferrari 348 v8 waiting to go into an Alfa gtv6 once the right car is found?? Not mine, but a customers..sorry Kev..

I tell you what Mats. Some Yankee v8`s sound real terrible and some sound absolutly fantastic. Its a fine line between the brash ,harsh guttural sound and the powerfull, classy burble ,good red wine sound...

Ok,Im dropping the sound stuff now.

I'm sorry, figured we were in fantasyland already. 8)
A 348 engine would maybe not be too expensive, maybe the same as a premium tuned 3.2 24v?

I know there is a Stratos Kit for an alfa V6, Hawk 3000 or something. Ultimas can obviously be fitted with an alfa engine too as seen previously on this forum (with twin turbos).
