Just a follow-up on my 8 April post regarding the new ANSA "Free-flow" system on my '86 GTV6:
As I reported, the new exhaust system produced a noticeable improvement in performance, and while the exhaust note was pleasant, it was considerably quieter than I had anticipated.
Now, however, after about two months of use, the ANSA system is considerably louder and with a much more impressive "note". Considerably improved on both accounts. A much more "serious" sound.
Any ideas on how/why the change in loudness and tone?
I don't know anything about the innards of the ANSA muffler, but back in the 50s & 60s we loved the "Hollywood" glass-pak mufflers which improved with age as the fiberglass inside deteriorated from the heat, and the sound got better and better (louder & louder!).
