GTV6 in good company

Post by Murray »

In the little village where I live we have decided to try and set up a little car club.We had our first get together tonight and I thought you guys might find the pics interesting. As you can see we Italian car owners currently dominate.Notice the carefull colour matching ! Who can figure out what's parked next to my GTV6 ?

French cars are shit and shit expensive to service and bloody awful and unreliable and expensive and friends don't let friends drive french cars and you wait years for parts.

Barry I guess you're just going to have to stay awake tonight  You've got the correct country when you say "Jag based" but no it's not. They were made in the late 50's always used an American V8 and won Lemans now get to work.

My vote for the green one is an Allard. Maybe with an early Chrysler Hemi of 331ci or a Cadillac. I don't remember the displacements of the Cadillacs from those days.

Now the Fiat, was that simply called a 500 ? Exceptionally small cars.

Both were probably a handfull to drive ;-)

And the Cobra ? An early Chevy "stovebolt" six engine with splash lubrication coupled to a VW bug automatic transaxle ! No brakes in the front and VW drums in the rear. :-) :-)

Merril you've got it.By now it's probably too late cause Barry has probably lost his night's sleep :D It is in fact an Allard albeit a new one.One of the guys who showed up for our little meet is a Mr.Allard.He has all rights to this brand and is manufacturing them in Montreal.Like the original he is offering it with a Hemi, Cadillac -Northstar or as with this one a 350 GM Ramjet.Goes like stink. The Fiat is in fact small enough to fit in the trunk of my GTV6  and being air-cooled is extremely noisy !The Cobra is a Superperformance Replica with a 427 .Well-made and screams around the track.
