Yes, plenty. ;)

I didn't say the GTV6 was shit, I said it was shit compared to the Delta Intgrale. :D

Or are you saying you wouldn't touch a car that had already been converted? I personally don't have a problem with converted cars; I drove an x1/9 that was converted for a while and it was great. They all must be inspected by engineers.
I would never ever touch a converted car, there is no way you can make a good conversion on a Delta, there is no space under the hood and cutting more holes in the firewall will make it even softer in the body. Also, to make such a huge change on such a rare car is terrible in my book, it's like RHD converting an F40 or something, you just don't do that.

Alfettish the image that comes to my mind is Henri Toivanen,Delta S4 and the 86 Monte Carlo Rally. :D  Turned the Integrale into a legend for me and I think many others.

I hope your purchase brings you more smiles than frowns.

David check out the Do you still love driving your Alfa thread, your response is exactly the kind that warms my heart. :D

Well I've never driven a RHD Delta, but I'll let you know once I have.

I really really want a LHD one but I'm still not sure whether it's registrable here. Fkn shit country.

Surely one of the Australians here must know.

Mats, 180hp, no wonder you were upset by it's straight-line speed :) :) :)

Yes, it is :(
Just got off the phone with the transport pigs and they told me 30 years.
Apparently there are no exemptions either; you can't even get a 24 hour permit or anything to drive a LHD car to motorsport events etc...
Oh well, I'll just have to wait another 10 years or more if I want a LHD model.

Does anyone have any idea why this rule exists?

Yep, to discourage the use of LHD cars in a RHD country.

Why?
If it was dangerous they wouldn't allow it at all.
I can see no reason other than it upsetting the marketplace but the majority wouldn't/doesn't bother importing vehicles anyway.

In Spain, I could only register my RHD GTV6 because of an EU directive on freedom of movement within Europe. It used freak people out over there to see a RHD car on Spanish plates! Especially when my wife turned round to get something off the back seat at speed on the motorway! :D

Alfettish

Trust me it is dangerous. I spent three months on the road in Europe driving a British registered RHD vehicle and rest assured, it is freaky and dangerous.

Why? Well, imagine driving behind a slow moving bus. Your forward vision is totally obscured. Your view is of the gutter/kerbside but you want to overtake the bus. Unfortunately you cannot get a clear view on a dual carriageway to see if there is any oncoming traffic because that view would only be available if you moved out into the overtaking lane completely before you could confirm that it was actually safe just to have a look !!.

Unless you have a front passenger telling you that it is clear to make the manuvre, you got no choice but to follow the bus.. Rest assured for once the fuzz have got it right.

Doesn't mean you cannot use it in some closed circuit event like racing but definitely not a good thing on a public road.

Mike your point is very valid.I was thinking more along the lines the odd Enzo,Carrera GT that we are now denied because of the ruling.

If you get to look at a RHD Integrale I would almost bet the conversion was done/organised by (Sam I think it is) Tucci of Italian Job motors here in Melbourne. He's got several cars himself and is probably the Aus authority on them.

I hope you find a good one. I was eyeing a cheap one a year or two back with a spun bearing. It had a cage and fixed-back buckets so definitely not a road car even if LHD cars were allowed.

Cheers, Scott

Well, the 16v cars is a bit more, 210 is it? But it won't do any difference really, with the Evoluzione you would get (rated) 250 hp but I can tell you right now that the drivetrain eats away pretty good at the WHp...

The Legend of the Integrale is just too big to live up to.

Mats, do you think the Integrale eats up more hp than other Japanese AWD cars?

I drove a Subaru Impreza 2.5RS (2.5 liter NA, 165 hp, AWD ~2800lbs ) once and it was pretty quick! Felt at least as quick as my Verde.
