This sort of thing you need Admin to take care off. Mods can't do anything to prevent rogue members.

It is pretty common on a lot of BB's these days. Spammers will try anything!

Man, Barry,
You got too much time on your hands if you notice stuff like that. Now, go to the shop and make us some
- phantom driveshaft couplings
- phantom front suspension pieces
- phantom alternator brackets
- dadadada...

Sold my Callaway today, sniff. The fact is I didn't drive it much anymore - get my kicks on the track these days. So, figured I would sell it and bank a little credit with the wife for future projects  Oh, and then, my new "love" (shhh...), the $750 milano/75 track car. Went flawlessly at BW after many long nights replacing bushings, CV boots, steering rack boots, suspension, gutting, etc. Much more work to come. Ok, think I'm sufficiently off thread now

New member registrations are announced on the main page as soon as they sign up - but that does not mean their accounts are active. There are so many spammers active (in spite of the requirement for a human readable code upon registration), that I have had to set the board so that all new members have to be approved by an admin (just me) ... which means lots and lots of administrative work for me :( Damn spammers!
I reckon that more than half of new registrations turn out to be spammers and their accounts simply get deleted before they are ever activated.

Zamani, want a promotion? I'm going on vacation soon (Koh Samui :P) and so a new admin will be excellent to have around.

Cheers,

Hi Barry:
Yeah - its a judgment call I make with each new registrant - so some are bound to slip though the cracks...
By all means, post the names of the spammers here or send me a PM

Cheers,

Cool a promotion. Hopes it comes with a raise too

Hey isn't Koh Samui in Southern Thailand (Tsunami Central) ?

Hey Michael, if you go to the beach and the sea starts to disappear, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

Just thought about it, why don't you make Bazza the Admin? He seems to have an eye for tracking down spammers.

Yeah - that is Tsunami alley :D
I'd thought that if the sea starts receding, the correct course of action is to go closer to see what's happening ... maybe look for any diamond rings left by the tourist masses
I'll attend to the Admin issues shortly - thanks!
