Yes Micke, desperate times call for desperate measures...All I can say is it worked and very well at that!.. :D :D

Copper went all black and had a flaky coating on it.After cooling,I brushed the coating off with a brush..

That might not work here in the states Barry. I find that Charka works much better than Kingsford.

(For those in the dark: I am comparing the major US and South African brands of charcoal briquettes)

Actually, I am surprised he has such a nice grill. Must have bought it this week!

I am, however, impressed by how good his grass is still looking for the middle of winter.

Charka is excellent!..So you guys have Charka in the us??Well i never...

Winter is here with a vegeance..We had snow in Joburg this week! Its crazy..

Ovens at Bholer steel ..Big enough to park a semi trailer in..As the guy said,a bit overkill?

Besides that I needed to this myself and see what needed doing to get the desired results..Ive never worked with copper before, always thought it a bit agricultural on an Alfa engine..I always did it the more refined, more difficult and more expensive way. This engine did not give a continental about refinement,it just spat my gaskets out..
So I have looked at copper ,but theres a twist to the tale here. Its not only copper,I had to put something exotic in the mix as well.
As soon as I have confirmed that it works,Ill post.
I reckon this is going to be the ultimate headgasket setup .. :!:

I use lumps of dried cow sh*t in my barbie....adds that little bit 'O' sweetness to the steak.......(hell, the steak is made from eatin' grass anyway...)

x-rad you're a classic. I suppose you have sh*t sandwiches to go with it. (You must have heard of the spreads like, Vegemite, Marmite, Promite etc
commonly referred to here as sh*t sandwiches) :D

The reason why Bazza is so fussy with this head gasket thing is not for the reasons you imagine. Bazza just loves to get a head job done right. :D :D

No Charka over here. That's why I miss it. I wish we could get it here though.

Snow? That was just a light dusting man! Last time we had snow in JHB was on 10 September 1981. I was in Std 7 and used a bicycle to go to school. 12km each way!

Niel,I remember that like it was yesterday...I had an Alfasud and was traveling on a road that was as straight as an arrow for probably 15km...
Got to my turnoff ,turned the steering wheel and the wheels would not turn..the snow had packed in and under the fenders so tight that the wheel had no place to swing but straight ahead..

I hate snow....
