What do you guys use as a tow vehicle to get your race car to the track?I've been thinking of a Toyota Landcruiser. Also do you use a 2 wheel dolly or a 2 axle trailer?

Whatever available. Lately my Seat Alhambra 1.9 TDI. Next summer hopefully my 164.
Mostly 2 axis trailers. Now only that since I bought my own.
Dolly's are now allowed over here.

How heavy is your trailer? Here if you say you tow a race car with a car, people will look at you with contempt/scorn

.
I have a Mazda MPV (2003 model, 200 bhp) but I'm not too confident in towing with it, rated to tow 3000 lbs max. Although there are steep grades to climb here so maybe a truck/suv isn't such a bad idea.

That's just becuase euro diesel engines with a manual deliver more torque at the wheels than us cars

besides I thought Americans like trucks and look for excuses for buying one
p.s. I always thought contempt and scorn mean the same

Tow with my BMW 525Tds, no problems at all. single sprung axle and brakes on trailer (wire/drum).
Usually roll at around 100Km/h, sometimes more while overtaking and sometimes less.
