SZ in Oz

I was driving along down here in Tasmania, minding my own business (pretty much all you can do here) and stumbled across an SZ  . Left hand drive, so it's obviously an import... In fact I'm not sure they were even sold here?
I was stupid enough not to catch the plates, so I'm not sure where it was from.

Alfas aren't all too common down in Tasmania, so I was very surprised to see such a rare car. Does anyone know of any others that were sent to our big brown country?

A friends dad was involved with alfa Australia in the 90s and has some pics of a car that was sent down here for a show circuit but it went home after that... My guess?
Private import with no 'real' rego! Good on him!!

Cheers for the reply, Jules.

I did some snooping and got a hold of the owner's name, turns out he is a mate of my dad and a long time addict (Six 75s, a GTV6 or two and now an SZ).
Only arrived in the state yesterday and is on a Victorian import permit of some kind, I'm a little sketchy on the details.

Apparantly he doesn't like it!?

SZ were apparently sold in Japan, maybe an import from there?

I'll have to ask him next time he appears at a club meet. If that ever happens...
I'll try and take some proper photos if I get a chance.
Japan got more than 100 out of the 1036 made, apparantly; So it's highly possible.

So far its the only one I've heard of in the country. Feel free to correct me on that.
