Trip to the Ring

Post by Zamani »

Since it was off-topic I moved this post to avoid the wrath of the guy-who-drives-a-1.8T-living-up-north...

Damn and here I thought about bringing my car from sunny california to the ring. And after a weekend or two (or three?) part it out (probably at the back of Mats apartment since it's close to the port), ship all the stuff back to Malaysia for mom's GTV6 3.0, and burn the shell

Well I just signed a deal on a house today (I finally have a proper garage now, well kind of proper, I can't fit a lift in there). So it's gonna be REALLY tight (the wallet I mean), but the ring is still on my list.

The problem is the flight. I can't find a cheap flight from San Francisco to Munich or Frankfurt. Seems to be MUCH more expensive than flying into say... LHR. So I was thinking of flying to LHR (London) since I know London pretty well (used to go to school in Uxbridge for a brief period). And then take the ferry to Amsterdam. At least that will make the wife happy (sight seeing).

Only consolation so far is I've been practicing the ring on GT4 hehehe. So watch out JimK!

AHA!!!! Practicing secretly... One of the new guys with us this time, was on PlayStation for a month practicing too, but about all he gained as he said later, are the names of the turns :)
Hah, this guy races here in Greece(Pug GTI stuff), and when Ron took him for a proper demo lap in a poor old TS, he was all smiles and soiled underwear, hahah!
So Z, practice all you want, I'll still whip your brass!
Just make sure when you decide to do the trip, the weather is good and we're all in it (hear that Mats??) :D

Well Z, If you come over to Amsterdam, I'll be happy to drive you to the Nordschleife  and back (I only live 40 km from Amsterdam).

As I said before, the autumn is much better for a ring trip. Too bad I always find new interesting ways of blowing my ring budget... :/

Trust fund maybe..? :)

Talking about raiding the trust fund there are three SZ's ES 30 ZAGATO IL Monstro's forsale at the present time and I'm an spewing that they are all left hand drive (apart from one RZ in S.A. that's not forsale)
One specimen is from a private collection with a mere 420 km and is forsale for the paltry sum of US $38,000 dollars!
I'm going to go sit in my Gtv and
Theres not a car in the world I take over it for the money is a steal.
Just imagine an ES 30 with Dawies 3.7 24v or Gregs supercharger or both
