Thanks everyone. At this point I just put fresh paint on the front to get rid of those yellow stripes. I also treated the rust areas in the front. The car is now on stands and I will be removing the transaxle and DeDion soon. Fresh poly bushings, rebuilding the rear calipers, replacing the driveshaft donuts and bearings and try to get all the rust spots in the rear as well. New rear springs and shocks will come as well. Of course, I will be replacing the rear exhaust for an Ansa and fix whatever else I see wrong.

I am also planning on cutting the front bumper shock mounts and getting the rear bumper closer to the body.

I guess it will be some time before she drives again. :(

Luckily not my Mercedes but a friend's. The picture was taken in Florida the weekend that I picked the car up from the previous owner. The rest of the pictures were taken in my front yard in Ohio.

Mir:

It is good to see another GTV6 restored. Of about ~80,000 ? total produced, how many are left? 1/4? Running...even less? Luckily, many get 'recycled' on ebay so the rest of us can keep our cars going. It seems GTV6's go through life stages: 1) the original owner stage(just a mode of transportation with alittle flare for most) Then 2) the Party stage...owned by someone who gets a lot of fun/speed out the GTV6 but pretty much beats it up. Then 3)A the restorer fun/speed stage (need more of these) or 3)B. The graveyard. Good luck!
