everytime I go to get my car checked, I have to set the CO back to 0.5%, that is the only rule a <1993 car has to live by. Even the CAT doesn't have to be on the car. My daily driver a QV an the TS both run open loop CO ~ 1.5% and both lost the cat.Greg Gordon wrote:You can't connect the air/oil separator to the exhaust. The smog police will shoot on site if they find that.
No one ever checks outside the yearly check at the approved garage.
To compensate I go with the mountain bike to work
(if I don't have to be at a customer site, then I drive a company diesel)

\Greg Gordon wrote:The problem is the stock Alfa air/oil separator sucks. Check out the first picture on this page www.oldebottles.com/italiancarspage5.htm . We are using that separator on our cars. With the hose pointed up and the transition to a smaller hose on the uphill side zero oil gets into the intake, just fumes.
This separator is a common parts store item, ie NAPA, Vato Zone, etc.
Greg,
What is the size of the hose used to step down and is the red silicone hose the same as in your kits?
