gta pistons in a 3.0?

Would it be possible to use the pistons of a GTA in a normal 3.0 24v engine? The longer stroke should mean that the pistonpen would sit higher in the piston so the piston height is lower than standard. nice for a supercharger/ turbo set up.
What CR would you get if you would use GTA pistons in a 3.0 24v engine?

I have the GTA pistons and they are going into a 3L 24v 166 engine.
Barry - tell us whats the go.

The Gta piston is way shorter than a std 30l piston.Yes,It can be used for lower comp. ratio for turbo, but if its used as is,the cr is very low.If I were using them for a turbo,id offset the s/e bush to get a more workable cr with these pistons..
The cast piston, used with a well set up engine management system, and good charge/intercooling is good for one bar boost..just keep your temps down and away from detonation...
P,You running a gta crank ?

Patrick,If you remember correctly a conversation via e-mail went some thing like this...
Crank about R7000.00 but to ship to Aus.probably cost the same...yes,right,Ill look around locally..Used I had a motor lined up but as with most of these things,it fell through ...
If you want a crank, yes ,I can buy one from Alfa here and ship for you..
Let me know..
You will have to hold on a while..I now have to register as an importer/exporter with all the stuff Ive sent all over..You were lucky you got the pistons,JK has to wait for his valves while the red tape grinds on here...and Dennis De Rooy...and..

Yeah well, he should go in business selling stuff to all of us Alfa-junkies, make enough money to get the hell outta there and move to a civilized country without shark-infested waters and electric fences...like Greece, heheh!

You come over here in 3-4 years Barry (when I go on pension) and we'll build all kinds of crazy shit!
AND, we're a lot closer to the Ring than S.Nigeria!!

Then, if we can get the other old geezer here (MD) we can resurrect the Three Stooges!!

Sorry I can't hear you JK. You'll have to speak up.
It's very still and quiet down here and pitch black too. Not much happening either but I must admit to sneaking a methane out and the smell was killing me so I had to come for air.
...life can be hard for a turtle but when you get a hard one it's good for a hundred years. The shell guys, the shell .
